Early Indiana Punk and New Wave: The Crazy Al’s Year(s) Releases October 25
After approximately 18 months of groundwork, we’re ready to announce the imminent release of Early Indiana Punk and New Wave – The Crazy Al’s Year(s). This will be a double CD featuring 38 bands and 46 tracks, more than 2 hours of music, focused on the seminal period 1976 to 1983, when new wave was still new and punk was a youngster.
We’ll celebrate the release with a party at Radio Radio on Saturday, October 25, featuring Randy King and the New Positions, The Last Four Digits, Latex Novelties, Teddy and the Mofos (Indianapolis version of Original Gizmos), The Moon Rocks (ex Abstractions/Obvious), The Art Thieves, and The Tools. Doors open at 7 pm and music starts at 8. Tickets available here.
There are a ton of people to thank for helping to make this happen. I don’t want to leave anyone out, so for now, just know that I really appreciate all the teamwork, support, encouragement and assistance in getting this project out.
